A linear element, just like the river it crosses. Nestled in the landscape with elegant undulations. Three high counterweights are the bridge’s clear profile, blending well in the complex context of industrial buildings, old farms and open polder landscape. The bridge provides passage for heavy traffic, with a separate deck for cyclists and pedestrians. The movable part is well balanced and produces its own energy. At opening the deck appears to fly away, resulting in spectacular views. The Queen Máxima Bridge has been opened in 2017.
